4 FQs – Batiks are great for this, especially if you have trouble getting things pointed the right way when paper piecing, as batiks allow you to use either side

Theme for 2012 Quilt Show
The Theme for our 2012 Quilt Show is Nature’s Beauty so get your designing fingers to work on theme quilts!
Great Show!
it took three men and a boy (and various guild members) to set up the racks.
the guild members prepare the brochures while waiting for the racks to be set up.
We had 8 items this year, all using our challenge fabric.Three of them were clocks (inspired by the clock fabric, no doubt!) and three members said they almost made clocks…popular item!
People’s Choice was the French Braid Quilt by Ellie Tinko.

Registration for Quilt Show THIS WEEK!
Remember to bring your quilts in to Homespun Treasures on 322 in Carlton, PA (you can shop while there, too!) on Wednesday and Thursday, to register them for the Quilt Show THIS WEEKEND!
Quilt Registration
*Registration will be Wednesday, 4-27-11, from 5-8pm and Thursday, 4-28-11, from 10am –4pm.
*A check box will be on the registration form to indicate any item as professionally quilted or quilted by ‘self’ (for machine and hand quilting)
*Quilt labels must be covered prior to registration.
*Only 2 quilts per numbered category.
*Quilts should arrive in bags with owner’s name on it (owners will take bags home with them).
*Quilts will be registered by number with a description, owner’s name and who will be picking up the quilts, if owner cannot.
*Choose category for judging carefully; it will not be changed.
*All entries must be ‘new’ (should not have been in our previous shows) except for Theme Quilt Exhibit quilts.
*Quilts should be clean and odor-free.

Fun Night March 23
Don’t forget to bring supplies to make ribbons for the quilt show! Wanda and Colleen have come up with a great idea, so bring your holiday fabrics, ribbon colored fabrics, and your sewing machine!
Meeting Change!
Due to Gail being at AQS in Lancaster, we have changed the meeting date from the 16th to the 23rd.

We Are Taking a Trip!
Country Charms Quilt Guild is planning a bus trip to the Vermont Quilt Festival in June! This show houses approximately 500 quilts and over 80 vendors.
The bus will leave Thursday, June 23 and return Sunday the 26th.
The trip includes three nights lodging, three breakfasts, three dinners, admission to the Vermont Quilt Festival, and transportation. There will be side trips to Shelburne Museum and Keepsake Quilting!
